HOW WE COACH

CHARTER STANDARD STATUS

Charter Standard 2.jpg

Meninas Football Club is an FA Charter Standard Club. As a prerequisite of achieving this, all coaches are FA qualified and members of the FA's Licensed Coaches Club. All coaches and volunteers within the club are DBS checked and have appropriate safeguarding and first aid qualifications.

COACHING PRINCIPLES

Coaches at the club encourage players, through a range of techniques including questioning and guided discovery. Training sessions are planned with maximum ball rolling time in mind.

On matchdays, coaches rotate players in terms of both positions and formations. This helps to develop both the tactical and psychological sides of the game and help to progress towards a more well-rounded young player.

Coaches at Meninas Football Club avoid influencing players' decision making processes by shouting commands such as 'shoot' or 'pass'. As a result of this, players are encouraged to make mistakes and learn from them, either themselves or through discussion / guided discovery.
